As part of Active Replica’s continued collaboration with OnBoardXR, we are proud to feature Mandy Canales’ Spaceholder during the Constellation pilot this August.
Daniel, Merriam, and Max are trapped in between life and death where they’ve found themselves on Spaceholder, a game show where contestants win points to move on to the phase of the afterlife. However, with tasks dictated by a secret “Judge and Jury” and a point system that consists of square roots and percentages, there is little faith that any of them will ever achieve the coveted prize. As personalities clash and the trio becomes increasingly frustrated with each other, they are given an opportunity to change the course of their existence and must collectively decide how to take action. Written by Mandy Canales. Performed by Mandy Canales, Braden Roy, and Leah Sullivan.

I love that in the OnBoardXR community collaboration is key.
“I love that in the OnBoardXR community collaboration is key. There is a culture of making sure that people feel supported whether they’re asking about a tech mystery or trying to articulate an idea for a new show - I always have faith that I can ask a question that will be met with sincere interest. Also, because this is such a new space for performance that has a pretty steep learning curve, it’s easy to have a bad day and wonder why you’re doing what you’re doing. When those moments happen the OnBoardXR community really stands up and becomes your hypesquad.”
